A 55-year-old man from Baina was seriously injured when a tanker and a motorcycle collided with each other near the IOC junction in Vasco on Wednesday morning.
According to sources, the mishap took place as the rider, Hassan Rajesab Hajrathi, was going towards Baina on his motorcycle (GA-06-J-7434) while the tanker (GA-06-V-9666) driven by Lokesh Kodak, a native of Karnataka, was taking a turn near the IOC junction to move towards Sada.
"Hajrathi came under the wheels of the tanker which allegedly ran over his legs. He was seriously injured and shifted to Chicalim Cottage Hospital, from where he was referred to the GMC hospital with serious leg injuries," said the source.
Vasco police registered a case and Head Constable Ashish Naik is carrying out further investigation.
