An excise team seized liquor worth Rs 42.63 lakh at the Patradevi check post on Wednesday morning.
According to reports, a vehicle proceeding from Goa to Maharashtra was stopped at Patradevi Excise check post at about 11 am. The driver and cleaner of the vehicle claimed the vehicle was carrying electronic waste.
Pernem excise officer Rajesh Naik along with Vasudev Gawas, Mahesh Goankar, Bharat Pagi and others checked the vehicle and found liquor worth Rs 42.63 lakh illegally being transported in the vehicle.
The liquor and the vehicle have been seized and both were later detained by the excise department.
