Voters turned out in huge numbers to take part in elections to 12 panchayats in Sattari on Wednesday.
Voting was conducted at a total of 83 polling stations and Election Officer Kaushik Desai said voting took place in a peaceful manner. A total of 276 candidates are in the fray and 11 panchas have already been elected unopposed.
Election Officer Kaushik Desai said counting of votes will start from 8 am on Friday.
The final voter turnout at different panchayats in Sattari were Mauxi (90.47%), Nagargaon (89.22%), Morlem (90.44%), Keri (79.97%), Honda (86.43%), Sawarde (88.16%), Guleli (92.51%), Bhironda (83.12%), Pisurle (90.69%) and Thane (89.86%).
