BICHOLIM
Bicholim police have arrested a senior clerk at a high school in Bicholim taluka on charges of harassing a minor girl student of the same high school.
According to information, the incident is reported to have taken place last month when the clerk is alleged to have harassed the student who lives in the same village where the high school is situated.
When the girl reported the matter to her parents, they lodged a complaint with the school and PTA against the clerk.
Some former students of the high school also intervened in the matter. A meeting was also convened in the village and it was later decided to file a police complaint.
On January 10, the School PTA filed a complaint against the clerk and Bicholim police arrested the accused.
He was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class in Bicholim and has been remanded for four days in police custody. PSI Anil Polekar is investigating the case under the guidance of Bicholim PI Suraj Gawas.
