School staff can keep bank A/Cs unchanged: DoE

The Directorate of Education has modified its directives to aided schools on direct online transfers of salaries to teaching and non-teaching staff through an app developed by the Axis Bank saying the employees of the aided institutions will be at liberty to maintain their existing bank accounts.

"In continuation to the circular referred to above it is hereby clarified that the employees of grant-in-aid educational institutions may continue with their existing bank accounts," Director of Education Shailesh Zingde said in a follow up note.

Exactly a week ago, Zingde had issued the circular to managements of these aided institutions to commence collecting details, including individual bank details, of all their teaching and non-reaching staff to enable direct online transfers of the salary grant.

"The processing of salary of employees of grant-in-aid schools will be totally online on the software developed by Axis Bank Ltd," the circular had said.
