Silva 'vindicated' as anticipatory bail plea of Velingkar rejected

MARGAO
Asserting that justice has prevailed with the North Goa Sessions Court rejecting the anticipatory bail plea of Subhash Velingkar, Velim MLA Cruz Silva said he feels vindicated by the court's decision.

"Being the main complainant, I feel vindicated by the order denying bail to Subhash Velingkar who tried to create a rift between the peace-loving Goans just before exposition," he said. "May Goencho Saib instil a good sense in him and I hope he stops raising such irrelevant issues to disrupt the communal harmony of our Goenkars."

The Velim MLA thanked all Goans for standing united against "these forces" and showing that they were defeated.

The Velim MLA had filed a host of complaints against Velingkar with the first complaint lodged with the Cuncolim police station along with the citizens of Velim constituency. The Bicholim police had finally registered an FIR against Velingkar based on the complaint lodged by the Velim MLA.
