Six more Covid deaths, active cases now 2,576

Six more Covid-related deaths were recorded in Goa on Sunday taking the death toll to 576 in Goa.

The deceased persons include a 59-year-old man from Neura, a 73-year-old man from Mapusa, a 75-year-old man from Valpoi, a 76-year-old man from Orlim, a 50-year-old man from Mandrem and an 83-year-old woman from Panaji.

As per the mortality report of the Health Department, all the patients were admitted at the intensive care unit of Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim for 10 to 12 days and received standardized care.

Meanwhile, 211 new cases have taken the active Covid case count to 2,576. The positivity rate stood at 20.7 per cent on Sunday with 211 persons testing positive out of the 1,018 samples. On the other hand, the total recoveries in Goa so far have crossed the 39,000-mark.

Presently, the total confirmed Covid cases in Goa stand at 42,242 of whom 39,090 have recovered.
