SJM appeals to youth, parents: Be job givers, not job seekers

“Our society is going through a great challenge with regards to employment and everybody should understand that, the government cannot provide jobs to all. There is need to change our mentality from 'Being a job seeker' to 'a job giver'. There are many opportunities for our population to get into various businesses. But, due to our wrong notion about employment, we are not trying to grab the opportunities," said Satish Kumar at his inaugural speech at the Employment Generation Centre (Rojgar Srujan Kendra) opened at Ramanata Crisna Pai Raikar School of Agriculture, Savoi-Verem. The centre, established as a nationwide campaign for Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan (SBA), is first of its kind in Goa. All India Joint Organiser of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) Satish Kumar appealed to the youth and their parents to prepare their minds to start earning early and participate whole heartedly in the programmes as 'Earn while learn' and 'On the job trainings' which would help them to achieve big in their careers.

This centre established at RCPR School of Agriculture will link the job aspirants to the companies, help them to earn necessary skills for the jobs, provide career counselling, help in start-ups and entrepreneurship development. 

The centre will provide services like providing jobs, assisting in self employment, entrepreneurship, capacity building, MSME help desk, youth and women empowerment etc.

Manguirish Pai Raikar, chairman of RCPR education society briefed about various efforts made by the college to improve the skills of the students and for their placements. He assured full cooperation to SBA in its campaign for employment generation and there by economic development of the nation.

Prashant Deshpande, regional coordinator of SBA spoke about the conceptual thinking behind this campaign and the activities being conducted. Vibhag Sanghachalak of RSS Goa, Rajendra Bhobe welcomed the initiative. 

Damodar Morajkar from KVIB, Arvind Bigade from Handicraft Corporation, representative from Economic Development Corporation were also present for the function. 

The programme was attended by the industrialists, farmers and students. Incharge of the college Shrirang Jambhale delivered a welcome speech and Mahesh Shilpkar expressed vote of thanks. This programme was supported by Sharmad Raiturkar, Manoj Gavkar, Adv Swapnil Kamble, Pravin Pol among others.
