Smokers, others can now get help in GMC to kick habit

PANAJI

Smokers who resolve to kick the habit can now bank on the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim to help them succeed in the mission.

The GMC has commenced a free 'Tobacco Cessation Programme' to help smokers and tobacco chewing persons to break free from their dependence and addiction to the nicotine high.

The programme encompasses expert counselling, clinical and medical assistance and even unique, personalized prognosis and de-addiction plans which will guide the subject at every step in the road to kicking the habit.

This is the first time that GMCH will be providing these services although both the district hospitals at Mapusa and Margao do have deaddiction programmes as well.
