Sopo tender after receiving advice from lawyer, says PDA Chairman

South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) Chairman, MLA Wilfred D’Sa has said the PDA has initiated the process of tendering the sopo contractor for the wholesale fish market.

He, however, said the sopo contractor engaged by the PDA after he took over the planning body over a year and a half ago is giving a monthly revenue of Rs nine lakh when the previous contractor was only paying Rs 1.5 lakh per month.

To a question when the PDA will float the sopo tender, D’Sa said the PDA has sought legal advice on the issue, saying the tender will be floated no sooner the PDA receives advice from the lawyer.
