State received record Rs 1,500 cr central funds for capital expenditure

PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has claimed that the State received a record Rs 1,520 crore from the Centre in 2024-25 for capital expenditure.  

He said he expects this trend of Central funding for capital investment in the State to continue in the next fiscal as well.  

Meanwhile, at the press conference he addressed after presenting the budget, Sawant said the total capital expenditure in 2024-25 was in the region of Rs 5,000 crore, while the estimates for 2025-26 peg capital expenditure at Rs 7,863 crore, much of it for the WRD, PWD, and Electricity Department.
