Steam centre set up for Covid warriors in Mapusa

MAPUSA

Acknowledging the work done by frontline workers during the Covid pandemic and in bid to reach out to them, Mapusa BJP Yuva Morcha has started a steam inhalation centre to cater to such frontline warriors in town.

The steam inhalation centre has been set up with 10 inhalation machines at the Priti Bhojan Kaksh in the heart of the city in Mapusa.

“We have established this inhalation facility for the benefit of all the frontline workers. All the other volunteers involved in Covid related work can also come and use the facility,” said Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza, while inaugurating the facility.

He informed that helpline numbers for medical, food supply and emergency response vehicles have also been set up for people in Mapusa.

“People who have to travel from their homes to the testing centre can call up the emergency response vehicle helpline number and use the service,” he said.

Mapusa BJP Yuva Morcha President Dharmesh Keni informed that the facility was basically planned for the frontline workers like the police, fire department personnel and others who have been working day in and day out during the pandemic.

“Since the Covid situation was going out of hand we thought of starting the steam inhalation centre to reach out to our frontline warriors,” Keni said.

He said the Yuva Morcha members will be stationed at the site so that everyone who uses the facility follows the Covid SOPs announced by the government.
