Sudin changes stand on alliance with BJP, says he was misquoted

PANAJI

Barely a day after making a statement about an alliance with the BJP, Marcaim MLA and MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar on Monday claims he was misquoted by the media and insisted there would be no alliance with the BJP.

"There is no question of forming an alliance with the BJP. I was misquoted by the media on the alliance,” Said Dhavalikar.

Dhavalikar said an alliance with BJP would be a political suicide.

When confronted by media persons in Ponda about his statement about an alliance with the BJP, Dhavalikar insisted he was misquoted by the media and said: “The BJP has backstabbed and insulted MGP three times, so I have no intention to go with BJP,” said Dhavalikar.

Earlier on Sunday, Dhavalikar had reportedly claimed his party was ready to talk with BJP on seat-sharing formula for the 2022 Assembly elections, if they were ready to give 12 seats to the MGP in the seat-sharing formula.
