The recent feud between Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar and Minister Govind Gaude has been portrayed as a mere misunderstanding and a swiftly resolved matter like familial disagreements, according to tribal leader Prakash Velip. In an interview with The Goan, Velip also claims there is complete unity among all the tribal leaders.
THE GOAN: What is your opinion on the recent feud between Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar and Minister Govind Gaude?
PRAKASH VELIP: I believe it was merely a misunderstanding, quickly resolved. Just like in any family, disagreements arise but are resolved without lasting animosity. You all must have seen that both of them along with other leaders attended a meeting in Delhi regarding ST reservation, which exemplifies their leadership despite differences.
TG: Differences between Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar and yourself have also been amicably resolved. What led to this resolution?
VELIP: The quoted statement against Tawadkar was inflated... A similar incident occurred with a deputy speaker. I am aware of the rules and regulations, and we acknowledge the Speaker's stature and respect the position.
TG: Is there a concern regarding tribal leadership given recent disputes?
VELIP: Our unity remains strong. Leaders like Tawadkar and Gaude have championed tribal rights, along with other tribal leaders. We stand united towards our goals and will continue to do so in the future. Unity is the need of the hour.
