Tourism dept has not submitted project file: Se Old Goa p'yat

Se Old Goa Deputy Sarpanch Ambar Amonkar has stated that the Tourism Department has yet to submit the project file to the panchayat for its approval.

"We have still not received any file from the Tourism Department pertaining to the project," said Amonkar when told that the Tourism Director Kedar Naik had informed that the file has been submitted to the panchayat.

"The Tourism Department officials has only explained about the project at a gram sabha wherein the gram sabha members had raised their objections to the project," Amonkar said and informed that after that there was no communique from the Tourism Department.

Amonkar then said that even if the Tourism Department submits its file for approval, the panchayat would place the same before the gram sabha for the say of the locals.

"We are going to hold a special gram sabha on the issue and the panchayat will abide by the decision of the gram sabha," Amonkar stated.
