PERNEM: A tourist from Delhi was killed, while two persons, including a Russian national were seriously injured when a motorcycle and a scooter collided with each other at Paliem-Pernem in the wee hours of Monday.
According to police reports, the incident took place at about 1.15 am near Nature Coastal Yard Guest house, Bhom, Paliem-Pernem, when Saish Parab rode his motorcycle in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Arambol towards Keri direction and collided with a Honda Activa scooter.
The scooter rider Nikhil Sagar (30) of Karol Bagh, Central Delhi later succumbed to injuries, while the pillion rider Julia (39), a Russian National, is undergoing treatment at GMC, Bambolim.
Parab also sustained injuries and is presently undergoing treatment at GMC, Bambolim. Mandrem police has registered a case under 106, 281 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 and PSI Pratik Garudi is investigating the case.
