A woman from Mangoor Hill was allegedly cheated of Rs 12.86 lakh by four persons who promised to secure her son’s admission to a veterinary college in Maharashtra but failed to deliver on their assurances.
According to the complaint filed by Deepmala Kamble, residents of Maharashtra ” identified as Neha Kamble, Uttam Kamble, Suhasini Kamble and Akash Dange ” allegedly induced her to pay Rs 12,86,000 since August 2023 at Vasco.
The complainant stated that the accused assured her an admission seat for her son at Krantisinh Nana Patil College of Veterinary Science in Maharashtra.
Despite receiving the entire amount, the accused neither arranged the promised admission nor returned the money, resulting in a financial loss of Rs 12.86 lakh to the complainant.
Based on the complaint, Vasco police registered an offence under Section 420 read with 34 of the IPC.
The investigation is being conducted by Vasco PSI Plato Carvalho under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
