Ports Minister Michael Lobo said nine long years have been wasted and blamed the wrong decisions taken by the present and past tourism ministers that have led to the downfall of the industry in Goa.
He said Tourism Minister Manohar (Babu) Ajgaonkar should have an open mind and take everyone into confidence while taking decisions in the industry.
“I am not saying he’s not working. He is not fitting in the shoes of tourism. He has to take help. When there is a problem, I consult the TTAG and the people from the coastal belt,” Lobo said.
“It requires team-work, which is not happening. I am from the industry. For the last four years, I have not been consulted by our own minister,” he added, clearly exposing the rift between the two ministers in the government.
He said the government should do what people of the coastal belt and hinterland want.
“You cannot say I will do what I want. We have to do what the people of Goa want,” he said.
