The Directorate of Health Services on Monday recorded 2,804 new cases of Covid-19 from among 6,107 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Parallely, 50 people succumbed to the disease. While the total active cases in Goa stand at 32,262, the total Covid victim count has touched 1,792.
The State has recorded 1.21 lakh confirmed cases of Covid-19 since March last year.
Of the 50 deaths, 28 deaths were recorded at Goa Medical College and Hospital, 15 at South Goa District Hospital, two at a private hospital in North Goa and one each at North Goa District Hospital, ESI Covid Hospital, Urban Health Centre Mapusa, Primary Health Centre Betki and a private hospital at South Goa.
DHS disclosed that three of the deceased had received their first dose of Covid vaccination. Eight passed away in less than 24 hours of hospital admission and two were brought dead at the hospital.
