Goa police have been put on high alert following ananonymous call received by the Director General of Police about a bomb blast.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told reporters on Fridayafternoon that the caller told DGP Kishan Kumar that there was an explosionnear a five-star hotel, but the information turned out to be wrong.
"He (DGP) was told (by the caller) that the explosionhad already happened," said Parrikar.
Parrikar, who also holds the home portfolio himself,cancelled a meeting and rushed to the site.
The Chief Minister said the call could be linked to thearrival of USA Navy's ship 'US Gridley' which has docked at Mormugao Port Trustharbour.
