A handful of fanatics belonging to some Hindu outfits have reportedly submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant recently and have demanded to bring in a strict anti-conversion law in the state to henceforth stop their own community from converting to Christianity and to somehow start harassing Christians by blaming them for indulging in illegal conversion activities. Well, these same individuals find nothing wrong when they see their own people living below poverty line, starving or sitting idle due to non-availability of jobs in the state. Hey, our Indian Constitution clearly gives our citizens a fundamental birth right to practice, propagate and to choose the religion of one's own free choice. I therefore feel that these most confused individuals should tell CM Sawant to immediately pass a strict law in the upcoming monsoon session of the Goa legislative Assembly to remove all the casino ships from the Mandovi river, to stop the real-estate lobby from henceforth constructing their huge concrete structures in our agricultural lands, to stop all outsiders from illegally running their dance bars, massage parlours promoting prostitution, etc.
