The fake international call centre at Calangute is another addition to the list. The Cyber Crime cell surely has its hands full, tackling such crimes. Modern technology should have ideally been a tool to make life comfortable. Instead, what we find is, it is being misused to bring hardship and pain and more stress in an already stressed out world.
We have seen how modern technology is being used to dupe people of their hard earned money through smartphones. Money is getting transferred from one’s account even without an OTP. The intelligence of cyber culprits is indeed very good. The authorities must find ways to beat cyber crimes and nip them in the bud. There culprits always seem to be one step ahead.
