Resort politics and total disregard of democracy

The Congress Tuesday evening moved all its 37 candidates to a resort to safeguard against possible moves by the saffron party to strike a deal with any of them, of course the lame reason trotted out by them was that they were there only to celebrate the birthday of a senior leader and ex CM. Winning an election is easy but to guard candidates against possible tempting offers from rivals is not a joke and the grand old party would certainly not like a painful repeat of 2017 when it's opportunity to form the government was snatched away due to Machiavellian tactics adopted by the BJP.

The Congress has also accused the ruling party of tapping the phones of its leaders this time around to keep abreast of happenings. Let's hope that Goa shall get a clean government come March 10.
