With stray cattle occupying the road at most locations in the state, lives of innocent travellers have been confronted with risk and danger. During recent years, many accidents have taken place due to cattle roaming on the road. The situation worsens during the night as cattle occupying the road are not easily noticeable. It is absolutely necessary for the concerned authorities at the respective jurisdictions to improve the deteriorating situation in this important matter by constructing cattle pounds and impounding cattle raoming and also squatting on the road. Human lives are precious and need to be protected at all costs. Cattle are seen frequently occupying the road at Daag area in Ponda. Let us hope that the authorities will initiate prompt favourable action in this important matter before the deteriorating situation aggravates further. No doubt, travellers need to be assured of safety in this sensitive matter at all costs.
