Govt has sunk massive funds in creating a class infrastructure with playground and conference hall and rooms at Velim. The surroundings turned into mini forests and ground sustaining overgrowth of bushes. MLA Cruz Silva has wisely and immediately worked to throw open the facility for use. The conference hall could be leased to generate maintenance expenditure. The ground is a boon to the school and village youth to pursue passionately their sports activity.
There are idle football fields at Chinchinim, Assolna, Dramapur wherein the government has poured in huge resources with the hope it will galvanize youth into recreational activity. The only way to learn football is to play it like Pele , Maradona, Messi, etc. PC Trust has instituted number of cash awards with incentives, citations in soccer, volleyball, hockey, basketball, athletics, chess, music but there are no full recommendations in all disciplines. How to revive sports and give it a priority and equal status on par with academic performances is a challenge.
