It is both sad and unjustified that step-motherly treatment is being given to Employee Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS-95) pensioners with no increase in pension or dearness allowance since the past 10 years---the last increase in minimum pension being in 2014. Several representations to the Central government, the Finance minister and even to the prime minister for minimum pension of Rs 9,000-11,000 from the present Rs 1,000/ have borne no fruit. Our only hope now is the budget session, before the end of the present dispensation at the Centre.
