I happened to be passing by the Mumbai International Airport recently and was shocked to see a mob of thousands, mostly consisting of men in their 20s and 30s shouting extremely vulgar slogans targeting the minority community . The ditties threatened brutal violence and lynching against the Muslims. Policemen as usual being simply bystanders did not even make an attempt to rein in the miscreants. The organizers even had a Yogi lookalike who was a big hit with the crowds. The UPfication of our once vibrant and secular Maharashtra is complete. Is this the way to honour Prabhu Shri Ram ? No condemnation is forthcoming from the CM or the political class who took gross umbrage to a mere comedian's act and filed multiple FIRs against him. They are as complicit in unleashing jungle raaj in India as these goondas. Religion has been weaponised to such an extent that once peaceful festivals like Ram Navami have been virtually turned into Ravan Navami, the beasts from hell have been let loose to destroy even the buried corpse of a secular India. Even Ravan who was a devotee of Lord Shiva would be turning in his grave.
