This is with reference to the issues of Water logging, floods in Goa…….- The Goan Everyday July 8, 2023. It was distressing to read several reports of the damage caused by rains at various locations in Goa and in the rest of the country. The water logging, tree fall, building collapses, traffic chaos, monsoon related illnesses, all on account of man's foolishness and greed. The authorities don't seem to care if the Smart City project is claiming lives. The authorities and the people don't seem to understand the consequences of destroying forests, the mindless concretisation all over the place -- rain water instead of going into the ground is passing into the gutters. Clearly, this is a manmade disaster and it is only man who is to blame. Well, you cannot fight the vagaries of Nature. We need to mend our ways.
Sorry state of GTDC parking complex at Benaulim beach
With much fanfare GTDC had inaugurated a parking complex at Benaulim beach 2 years ago which also houses a tourism office and a toilet block. As there are no way finding signboards to the site, the vehicular parking is hardly utilized, instead it has become a hangout for drug addicts, drunkards and other antisocial elements.
