It is really sad to see the present situation in the heart of Margao city. Recently there was a viral video that showed two migrants fighting outside the Margao Municipal Council building. For now, the police have cleared the beggars, but for how long. There are so many beggars seen around the city. Criminal activities are on the rise and these migrants are responsible for the rising crime graph in Margao. Migrants fighting on the busy streets after drinking liquor and playing cards in the nooks and corners have become a regular feature. Madgavkars are troubled to see all this in their once beautiful town. Shop owners and residents who pass by places like the Old Station Road, municipality circle and Khareband are not feeling safe because of the criminal activities and criminals residing here. The local MLA has to make sure that the migrants are kept in check from now on and not fall for the trap of vote-bank politics.
