The Congress party in Goa contends that 67 per cent of the people rejected BJP which went on to win 20 seats in the assembly elections. That may be true, but the fact of the matter remains that 76 per cent of the voters rejected Congress. The party leaders must study the facts before making any statement. If one sees some of the statistics, 94.35 per cent of the people voted against the party in Mandrem, 83.44 per cent in St Andre, and 94.91 per cent in Poriem. If this space permitted me more space, I would have shared the statistics of all 40 constituencies. It is time for the Congress party and its leaders to do some soul searching. It is good to see young leaders being entrusted the charge of the party. From here onwards, I hope to sincerely see the party being steered in the right direction and once again bring it on track to win assembly elections.
