The power supply in Dona Paula on Tuesday was very very bad especially in the evenings which includes areas of Caranzalem and Panjim, etc. Every second without exaggeration the lights go off and the linesmen are seen gambling in the office premises and that could be one of the reasons. Electrical gadgets like fridges, cookers, microwave ovens, geysers get damaged on account of the transient high and low voltages. The executive engineer must visit and catch these guys red handed and issue them a memo on the spot with disciplinary action if they cannot reply to the notice within seven days time and sack them from their services.
I feel these linemen are unfit for the job as they don't understand their job. Several lines are passing over private properties and these cables lines are damaged on account of branches of trees falling over them. I see them with their vehicles climbing the poles to repair them but why does the electricity failure continue? The Chief Electrical Engineer must depute or transfer them to a village where electricity supply has few lines and make them learn their job the hard way.
