India clinched the 3rd ODI and the series against England with a comfortable five wicket victory, thanks to a blistering 125 off 113 balls that included 16 fours and 2 sixes by Rishabh Pant. Pant's century came after India were in serious trouble at one stage having lost three top batsmen in the first nine overs with the scoreline reading 38/3. Ably supported by Hardik Pandya who scored a fine 71 off 55 balls the duo rescued India with a 133-run partnership. Pant is going from strength to strength under the tutelage of coach Rahul Dravid and could emerge as a worthy successor to his mentor MS Dhoni. He reminds you of Vivian Richards in full flow the way he sprays 4s and 6s all over the ground with the bowler and fielders being reduced to mere spectators. If success doesn't go to his head and Pant is nurtured well in the years to come, his name shall be in the illustrious company of the likes of Rodney Marsh, Adam Gilchrist, Kumar Sangakkara and Brendon McCullum. Keep it up Pant and earn more laurels for India in the future.
