Football derives its global appeal from the belief that every player, team, and nation is governed by the same set of rules. If a player commits a foul that warrants a red card under FIFA's laws of the game, the referee has a duty to enforce the rules without fear or favour. Any attempt by political leaders—regardless of their office or influence—to question, pressure, or interfere with such decisions undermines the integrity of the sport. All world leaders, should respect the autonomy of FIFA. Political authority should not extend to influencing decisions made on the football field. Referees and FIFA officials must be allowed to discharge their responsibilities independently and in accordance with the established rules. Its decisions should be guided solely by the laws of the game, evidence, and sporting ethics—not by the preferences or influence of powerful governments or political personalities. Football belongs to the world, not to any one nation or leader. The strength of FIFA lies in its commitment to fairness, consistency, and equal treatment for all. Preserving that independence is essential for maintaining the trust of players, teams, and millions of fans across the globe.
