The builders lobby is encroaching on green areas as well as putting pressure of wild life sanctuaries and tiger reserves in the state of Goa. Wild life is dependent on forests and forests in turn sustain various fauna. If Goa is to be maintained as green and thus attractive it is bounden that the Government immediately as per the High Court of Bombay in Goa notify the Mhadei wild life sanctuary as a tiger reserve, thus giving credence to the fact that Goa will still remain attractive as far as its flora and fauna is concerned. Too many huge real state projects which are not sustainable and are meant only for making a fast buck are destroying Goa. It is gone to such an extent that Goa is becoming a target for second and third homes which is totally unnecessary. Trees are the lungs and the carbon sinks of Goa which has a very high concentration of four wheelers and two wheelers. Nurturing greenery is a must to sustain a healthy quality of ambient air as also sustain wildlife.
