During her stay in Kolkata, Mother Teresa cared for the old and the infirm. She lived in the ashram and slept on a small bed even without a mattress. Her room is still kept as it is. To say that she was involved in religious conversions is to negate the enormous humanitarian work she did since the day she landed in Kolkata. She never hankered for power or pelf. Her selfless service defied the boundaries of religion and embraced all humanity. Hence the mother was a living saint. She doesn’t need a certificate from power mongers who are only accumulating wealth.
