Parents are responsible for children's underage driving

It is learnt that the car which was involved in an accident in which a woman rider from Chicalim was killed while the pillion rider was seriously injured was driven by a minor boy who did not have a driving licence. It must be said that this is a grave offence and needs to be dealt with in all seriousness. Underage driving not only puts the life of the minor at risk but also poses danger to other road users and pedestrians.  It is the responsibility of the parents not to allow driving till the child reaches the legal age to drive. Children should be aware of the fact that underage driving is strictly prohibited. It is common for youngsters to feel a level of excitement and rush while they are driving, but it is the duty of the parents to make their children aware of the rules and abide by them. There are laws to penalize the parents for the deeds of their child as it is their responsibility, and they must discharge it in a proper manner.
