We should thank Claude Alvares and all the people of Goa against the doubling of the rail tracks which was not affecting the people of North Goa but affecting the people of South Goa very much. It was putting people's houses close to the tracks at risk and the double tracking project was not benefiting the Goan people at all. It was benefiting the coal transportation of the industrialists causing health problems to the Goan population from Vasco to Mollem. Hence it is advisable to directly transport the coal to Karnataka instead of bringing it to Goa and transporting by rail and road to Karnataka. At least after the Supreme Court judgement hope that the government of Goa opens its eyes and scraps all the three linear projects immediately to protect the ecology as it will have a disastrous effect if the other two projects are allowed. Hope all Goans come together to fight tooth and nail to scrap the 2 other projects.
