The state government has made 200 hours of remedial teaching post school hours mandatory for weak students which need to be implemented by all schools. Teachers can help students set a goal in order to improve themselves and become responsible future citizens of the nation. It is understood that many of the IAS, IPS and IFS officers in the country have a rural background. Teaching is a full time profession and a responsible job.. Weak students may not develop the understanding of different topics, key concepts and other knowledgeable things. Gradually, they lose interest in studies. Here is where the teacher needs to be sympathetic and pay attention to the needs of the weak students without ignoring their emotional needs. They need to find the reason behind a student being weak in studies. Teachers can help the students in dividing the given time into various slots for completing each topic, revise and give exams. Weak students cannot be left behind but they should move ahead in their studies along with the rest of the students. All this can be achieved during the 200 hours of mandatory remedial teaching.
