As we march ahead into the 21st century, a question that comes to mind is caste-based reservation still necessary and will it be relevant?
Reservation cannot continue forever and should not continue as it is only a means to secure economic justice. Once that is achieved all sections of society should work hard and compete with each other in a level playing field as it happens in America and European countries where even residents of other countries compete with locals.
Caste has been the biggest curse and it is right time we abolish it and treat every citizen of country equal. Future generations should not cling on to their caste and I am happy to see that being in teaching profession for 32 years I don't feel that there is caste discrimination among young generation at all.
The united Opposition if elected to form the next government in 2024, should come with an ordinance that will abolish caste reservation in toto.
PM Modi may not take a risk before the general elections in 2024 but thereafter I am sure he will do that in the interest of the nation.
