Mangrove boardwalk in need of repairs


As part of boosting tourism initiatives, the government had inaugurated a wooden boardwalk in the mangroves behind the Central Library at Patto, but over course of time the plastic decking material has come loose, some strips are misaligned and there is also breakage in a few places. 

Besides water stagnation is visible on the floor due to some amount of the understructure framework sagging. As the mangrove walk is frequented by people throughout the day, there are chances of them stubbing their toes and getting injured. 

Request the Smart City Panjim authorities to set things right.

Govt should rethink on scrapping old vehicles

It is learnt that the Margao Municipal Council has opposed government’s plan to scrap 15-year-old vehicles in the State saying that the move will affect the common man eking a living on transportation. If the vehicle is scrapped after 15 years, those in the transportation business may not have the resources to buy a new vehicle.
