The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sunday arrested a famous Bollywood star's son and 7 others in a drugs raid case. They had searched a Goa-bound cruise ship in Mumbai late on Saturday and recovered drugs according to the flash news on all national TV channels as the company Cordelia Cruises had chartered its ship for a private event.
Are we saying our once beautiful, disciplined Goa has now been endorsed as a den for promoting drugs and rave parties? Not long ago, at least 23 people, including three foreign women were arrested and drugs worth Rs 9 lakh seized after Goa Crime Branch received a tip about a rave party being organised in villas at Vagator were women from Russia and Czech Republic were among those arrested.
The question all Goans have in their mind is, are our future generations safe from narcotics with innocent youth falling prey and parents carrying the cross? Goa was once considered as a save haven, but now some are making hay while the sun shines and Goans helplessly remain silent spectators at the cost of vested interests of blind-folded governance.
