On the Occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, the Lions Club of Canacona and Leo Club of Canacona in Association with Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), Canacona, NSS Volunteers of Shree Mallikarjun College, Government College of Commerce and Economics, Borda, and SS Angle Higher Secondary High School with Canacona Municipal Council conducted Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activities at Canacona Railway Station. Around 100 Students from NSS Wing of Both the Colleges and Higher Secondary along with the Members of Lions Club of Canacona and Leo Club of Canacona participated. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Drive started with jogging with Fit India at the atation premises, garlanding of the portrait of Gandhiji, the paper cloth bags with 'No to Plastics' and were distributed to the passengers and Vendors at the Margao Railway Station and Canacona Market by the dignitaries, members of Lions Club of Canacona and the students of both the colleges and Higher Secondary NSS Students. A medical Camp by Dr Tina Dias was held for the KRCL and RPF staff. Dry Garbage from the areas around Canacona Railway Station was collected.Simon Rebello, Chairperson of Canacona Municipal Council spoke to the vendors at the market to make use of paper and cloth Bags. Oximeters and Masks were also distributed at the station. Francis Lobo spoke to the students to focus on studies for a bright future. The Project coordinator Lion Ulhas Phaldessai gave vote of thanks.
