Goa is fortunate to have genuine activists whose hearts are dedicated to the welfare of Goans. These true activists work tirelessly for the community, raising genuine issues and fighting for justice without expecting personal benefits.
Unfortunately, Goa also has some so-called activists who misuse the name of activism. They create unnecessary controversies, file baseless complaints, and turn activism into a means of personal gain by allegedly seeking money to settle complaints and RTIs. Their focus appears to be on profit rather than public welfare.
When questioned by reporters or when their actions are exposed, such individuals often avoid answering, make allegations, or try to obstruct media coverage. Such behaviour raises questions about their real intentions and whether their aim is public service or personal benefit.
The people of Goa, especially Niz Goenkars, can differentiate between genuine activists and those who misuse the platform. It is important to support those who sincerely work for the betterment of Goa and reject those who damage the credibility of activism for personal gain.
