The third accident at rumbler strips was fatal. Non observations of speed limit flashers and dangerously overtaking was the cause. Besides there is not even 6 inches of footpath/sidewalk for pedestrians .The traffic police and Collector have been urged to immediately implement the detailed measures of their own consequent upon installation of rumblers. The MLA seems to be playing hide and seek ignoring with impunity all calls and messages. The heavy container trucks have no space and suggestions for a cost effective bypass are being ignored in favour of flyover at 7 times the cost of bypass. The driver trying to escape the site of accident was fortunately apprehended one km away by old panch. The familiar cyclist was knocked down and died on the spot without any damage to his brand new cycle. The rumblers have enhanced not only noise nuisance but increased manifold the chances of more such accidents. Either the rumblers have to be removed or measures suggested by traffic police must be fully implemented.
