The entire road stretch, starting from Sonarbhat Datta Temple at Saligao and heading right up towards the Saligao Seminary/Pilerne Industrial estate/Garbage Treatment Plant is always full of garbage. As some irresponsible people are seen bringing their personal garbage i.e. plastic bags/bottles, beer bottles/cans, left-over rotten food etc from home and casually dumping it right across this particular road on a daily basis & in the bargain dirtying this entire road stretch/creating air pollution for passerbys/those traveling via this road. Hey, when will people learn to protect the environment, stop dumping their personal garbage in other people's neighbourhood, public places like agricultural fields, markets, near roads-sides etc and live like civilised human beings in Goa?
I think that the concerned authorities (especially Saligao and Pilerne Panchayat) should take a serious note of this regular/daily menace, and if possible should install CCTV surveillance cameras right across the above-mentioned road stretch to keep a strict vigil against all habitual offenders and to keep this road fully clean for commuters heading towards the Seminary/Pilerne Industrial estate and Betim via this iconic road.
