The reluctance of RBI to print ten rupees notes is uncalled for. The ten rupee note is used by the common man in a big way for their daily purchases.
It should also to be noted that the ten rupees coin which is being minted although lasting may eventually go out of circulation if the value of the metal used to mint this coin eventually becomes more than ten rupees.
Also, the coin is heavier to carry compared to the notes.
The RBI should print ten rupee notes to avoid this acute shortage causing great inconvenience to the common man.
Banks in all States and Union Territories should be immediately replenished with ten rupee notes to streamline its circulation and replace torn and soiled notes.
