All eyes now on South Goa parliamentary seat

The political developments in the state may have left many Goans in a state of disbelief. However the move by eight MLAs from the opposition to defect to the ruling dispensation was not totally unexpected. The move could probably come as a big bonus for the ruling party in minority dominated Salcete where the party could garner only one seat in the 2022 polls that of Navelim losing badly in the other seven seats. But the present move by two MLAs from Salcete, namely from Margao and Nuvem, could also prove counter-productive for the ruling party. People are angry and frustrated over the political developments in the state. Their anger could be vented out during the 2024 general elections. Whether the Congress party will retain the South Goa seat or lose it to the ruling dispensation remains to be seen. The results of the parliamentary elections for South Goa will either be an endorsement or a censure of the move of MLAs from Margao and Nuvem to side with the ruling party.

I cannot stop laughing at these people who elected such leaders. It was a shameful and horrific act of public display. At second thought I am convinced that this act tantamounts to sacrilege having taken oath at the temple, church and the dargah to never betray the trust of the people and the promise they made to stay put for the whole term of five years come what may.
