The schools have re-opened on February 21 after a long break, but the attendance of students is not cent per cent as parents are reluctant to sent their wards to school fearing Covid-19 virus.
Also, there is a Karnataka effect on the Muslim children here who were not wearing hijab when the higher secondary schools started previously but now it is seen that there are few students of the higher secondary schools wearing hijab on Monday.
I think the controversy of hijab should be put to rest by authorities concerned whether it should be allowed or not in the school premises by the religious heads and government.
If we go on with the controversy then there are bound to be conflicts between the two communities as there are other religions like Sikhs who are allowed to wear turbans.
Muslim religious heads should have a dialogue with authorities and amicably solve the issue to bring to a logical conclusion to the controversy.
There should not be favoritism to any religion as all religions are allowed to function as per the Constitution of India that safeguards everyone’s right to practice.
We should not indulge in petty issues which can be solved across the table to prevent hatred between religions as we are living in a country which have diverse culture
