BJP’s anti corruption promise

I would like to take Goans back in memory lane to March 2012, when the BJP routed the Congress party and came to power with the CM’s promise of “zero tolerance to corruption.” Many of us were hopeful of better days.

However, the same ex-Congressmen who were targeted by the BJP in the run-up to the 2012 elections as being the most corrupt are now, in 2023, BJP ministers and MLAs. Their manifesto, with all its promises, is an official document of deceit. In my view, having been critical of both the Congress and the BJP, I now find that the BJP has taken corruption to a whole new level.

They have combined it with extreme arrogance, absolute deceit, and a lack of consideration for the common man, particularly those who are voicing genuine grievances and protesting against injustice. In hindsight, it was a huge mistake for Goans to give the BJP the opportunity to govern Goa.
