Cheque bouncing cases and some interesting judgements

The Supreme Court delivered an important judgement that when a drawer signs a cheque and gives it to be filled by any other person, the drawer cannot deny his liability towards payee on the ground that he didn't write it as per Case No LiveLaw SC 714 CrA 1260 of 2022 dt 16/08/2022.

As per British Law and Practice of Banking, it was decided that if a drawer issues a cheque to the payee and the drawer dies, the law there says the cheque must be honoured by the bank as the drawer's intentions were to pay the amount to the payee before his death. But in our country it is not the case.

Electricity department fails to solve issue of street lights

It is the routine job of the electricity departments to see that all the lights are in a working condition but it is sad to see that the street lights on the main roads and internal roads of Chandor Cavorim village are not in a working condition for months. After contacting electricity department, they said the faulty LED lights are sent to Margao department which is than taken to Pune for repairs and after this long process they will replace the street lights in the village…
